UGANDA "Sebei" - Bugisu AA, Medium Roast
UGANDA "Sebei" - Bugisu AA, Medium Roast
The Bagisu coffee growers live mainly in the Mbale District of Uganda on the slopes of Mt. Elgon and Sipi Falls. We work with small-holder cooperatives in this area to source premium coffee. They plant their coffee trees in-between other crops like banana trees for shade and to enrich birdlife which remove insects and parasites. "Sebei" is an ethnic group living in the growing area. This coffee grows organically and sustainably in conditions that provide two harvests annually. We consider Bugisu to be one of the most premium coffees of the world. This medium roast has dried plum and lemon-lime flavors along with chocolate and almonds.

Uganda is a nation of great natural beauty, fertile soils, regular rainfall, minerals and other natural resources. Its most important aspects exist in the Bwindi Impenetrable National Park which contains more than half of the world's population of mountain gorillas. Agriculture is the most important sector of the economy, employing over two-thirds of the work force, most of whom are women. Coffee accounts for the bulk of export revenues. Arabica was introduced to Uganda around the end of the nineteenth century from Malawi. It is said that Ugandan warriors chewed on coffee beans before going into battle to make them feel strong and invincible. Coffee rituals maintain this significance in modern Ugandan society.
This coffee is sold ground to your specification or unground. You can purchase grinders in our accessories section to prepare these premium beans using your preferred brewing method.
